Fracture Youth Theatre, under the direction of Youth Theatre Facilitators Joanne Quinn and Aoife Carry present “It only ever happens in the movies.....” devised by Mikel Murfi & John Taite, along with the cast  of NYT 2011 in The Source Arts Centre, Thurles on Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th February 2012 at 8.00pm.

The play is a story about love, teenage love. Derek is 17. He likes his laptop, ice cream, movies and DIY. By his own admission, he doesn’t do girls very successfully. It’s July. Derek knows love is in the air and he’d rather not spend another summer unkissed and unloved. The one thing, the only thing that Derek has going for him is that he is mildly inventive and he has just come up with a plan to find love! Using classic romance movies as his inspiration, Derek begins to put his materplan in action. Expect classic romantic comedy, expect awful chat up lines as love starved Derek begins his quest to find summer love.
