North Tipperary County Council commissioned the design of a new Corporate Logo
to mark the occasion of the new Millennium and the renewal of Local Government.
The presented design is based on the idea of a two way dialogue or interaction
between the County Council and members of the public, signified by the
spiral which is also a well known Irish symbol dating from earliest times.
Does the spiral begin at the centre or at the extremities?
The spiral is contained within a Romanesque/early Gothic arch-type shape, which is a very prevalent feature in buildings throughout North Tipperary. There are four arrows radiating from the design which again underline the outward progressive remit of the County Council and may also be radiating to the four corners of the county or the four electoral areas or four area offices. This is a design, which is both fresh and forward looking but also rooted firmly within our history and heritage.
It is symbolic of our past, our present and our future.
