Council launches 2007 Tidy Towns Grant Scheme

30th April, 2007 North Tipperary County Council has this week announced the launch of its Tidy Towns Grant Scheme for 2007.  This is a grant scheme for Tidy Towns Groups for projects or works carried out with the aim of enhancing and improving the appearance of their local communities.

The Tidy Towns Grant Scheme has proved to be a very positive initiative since its introduction in 2002 and aims to reward and assist the good work carried out by Tidy Towns/Village Groups in North Tipperary.

Applicants must be a recognised Tidy Towns/Village Group involved in activities to enhance and improve the appearance of their local community and all applicants must submit a one page Action Plan for their area. Grant Assistance will be at the rate of 75% of eligible costs.  The remaining 25% must be provided by the group in the form of cash receipts or voluntary labour. Groups within the administrative areas of Nenagh, Templemore or Thurles Town Council are not eligible for this competition and should contact their local Town Council for information on any available grant assistance.

The final date for submission of applications is Friday 15th June 2007 and projects must be completed before Friday 21st September 2007.
