5.0 Introduction
The settlement strategy for the County for the period 2003-2009 was set out in Chapter 3. This Chapter will address the Council's housing policy towards the achievement of the settlement strategy and should be read in conjunction with the North Tipperary County Housing Strategy 2001. Table 5.1 sets out the Council's housing programme as of July 2003. It is anticipated that much of the social housing requirement can be achieved through Part V of the Planning and Development Act, 2000. To this end a total of 53 settlements have been identified in the Plan where land is zoned for housing and a mixture of residential and other uses.
