Tiobraid Álainn

The Tiobraid Álainn is a Council initiative that acknowledges the hard work and dedication of many Tidy Towns/Tidy Village committees throughout North Tipperary.

The competition is usually launched in May and is advertised in local press.

Judging criteria includes tidiness/litter management, Awareness and care of the natural environment, Awareness and care of the built environment, Community involvement and Promotion of pride of place.

Prizes are awarded in all 4 electoral areas and will be presented at the Council's Annual Environmental Awards, usually held in November. There is also an overall prize for the Tidiest Village or Town in North Tipperary.

The Tiobraid Álainn competition aims to encourage local groups to prepare for and enter the National Tidy Towns awards, organised by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. For further information visit www.tidytowns.ie

The Tiobraid Alainn Competition 2011 is now closed for entries. Tiobraid Alainn 2012 will be launched in April 2012
