"To provide and maintain a safe and effective Roads Network within the County to serve the commercial and social needs of its users."
A satisfactory roads network is essential to the efficient operation of a successful economy. Given the dependence of Ireland on international trade and the competitive nature of business today, it is essential that transportation and distribution costs are contained. Roads are an essential communication link to support community development, to facilitate movement in rural areas and to foster social inclusion.
